Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori has announced to set up a squad to monitor cases of those killed after resisting robbery in Karachi over the past year.

The governor visited the residence of Itteqa Moeen, a highly skilled 27-year-old man who was shot dead for resisting a robbery in Karachi, to offer his condolences to the bereaved family.

Kamran Khan Tesuri assured the parents of the deceased that he would personally investigate the case and ensure that the culprits are brought to justice.

Later, while talking to the media, he said that a special unit would be established in the governor’s house to monitor cases of those who fell victim to street crimes in the city.

According to him, all street crime cases from the past year will be investigated in a special cell at the governor’s house. The governor said that the public should be informed of how many people were murdered resisting robbery, how many arrests were made and how many defendants were convicted.

Earlier today, the prime suspects in the June 1 murder case of Itaka Moin, a 27-year-old gold medalist mechanical engineer and Hafiz-e-Quran in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, were arrested from Quetta.

The sources said that the CIA arrested the suspects who fled to Balochistan after the killing and the criminal records of the arrested suspects are being obtained.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Adil Chandio said that important evidence was found in the murder case. The SSP said that the suspects are being trained and their group has been located.

According to the police, the arrested suspects are involved in car and motorcycle theft in Karachi. The suspects sell stolen vehicles and motorcycles from Karachi in Balochistan.

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) team is still in Quetta to further investigate the matter while the arrested suspects are expected to be shifted to Karachi.
