French President Emmanuel Macron expressed surprise at the diatribe of a senior Russian official against France. Macron denounced the “lack of dignity” of recent vitriolic comments made by Duma deputy speaker Piotr Tolstoy. Pyotr Tolstoy, the deputy speaker of Russia’s lower house of parliament, spoke against France to a reporter from France’s BFMTV in Moscow.
