Scorching heat is prevailing in many parts of the country including North India. Due to Nautapa, which will last for nine days from May 25, there is a chance of intense heat. During this period the mercury can reach 48-50 degrees Celsius in some areas. The meteorological department has also issued a red heat wave alert in six states. So far 60 people have lost their lives in the country due to extreme heat and a heat wave. Meanwhile, electricity demand hit a new high of 239.96 GW on Friday.
The beginning of Nautapa
According to astrology, Nautapa began with the entry of the Sun into the Rohini Nakshatra on May 25. It will last until June 2nd. During this period the sun is very close to the earth and its rays fall directly on the earth. Due to this there is a severe fever. It is also believed that if there is no rain in Nautapa then there are signs of a good monsoon. If it rains during this period, the Nautapa breaks and is considered an inauspicious sign of the monsoon.
Red alert for heat wave in these situations
The mercury has already crossed 44 degrees in many states including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat. The meteorological department has warned of severe heat for the next five days in Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. It has issued a red heat alert for Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana. In these countries, the days and nights will be very hot. Phaludi in Rajasthan was the hottest place in the country. The temperature here reached 50 degrees Celsius on Friday. while in Barmer the mercury was recorded at 48.8 degrees. The mercury remained at 53 degrees Celsius at the India-Pakistan border near Jaisalmer.
