When former Chief Minister Kamal Nath started contesting elections from Chhindwara, he gradually made it his stronghold.

After this, the party gave a ticket to Kamal Nath in this year’s elections and fielded his wife Alka Nath. Kamal Nath’s influence Alka Nath won the election with a huge vote.
MP Alka Nath had to resign

There was resentment among the common people of the area when the elected MP suddenly resigned from the post after about eight months. BJP had also launched a campaign in the entire district calling it an insult to women. BJP was trying hard to exploit this issue to win the mid-term elections.
