Survey News The number of wild animals is dwindling in the 48-year-old Badalkol Sanctuary located in the Narayanpur district of Jashpur. The main reason for this is forest fires every year during the summer. The irony is that even in the temple area concrete arrangements could not be made to control the fire. Talking about the facilities available at Badalkhol Sanctuary, there are only 8 fire extinguishers here to douse the fire in 20 beats. Not even two of these machines are working. Apart from that, the forest people are not deployed on all beats either. It is said that out of 20 beats, 10 have forest guards and seven have game guards.
The responsibility for the remaining three beats was also given to one of them.
