Manoj Sinha An effort to inculcate a sense of self-respect and self-reliance in girls through Simdega education is now bearing fruit. Many women who worked as sahiyas in remote rural areas of the district had barely received education up to a few primary and secondary classes. Now she is proud to show off her matriculation and intermediate pass certificates. Thakurtoli resident teacher Raj Anand Sinha started the process of removing the stigma of uneducated and undereducated girls. He motivated such Sahyas to appear for Matriculation and Intermediate examinations and made them prepare for their examinations by taking regular classes. Women sat the examination from the National Open School and so far 250-300 women have received matriculation and intermediate pass certificates. Currently, more than 130 Sahiyas will appear for NIOS matriculation and intermediate exams from April 6. Raj Anand Sinha once said that he went to rural Jaldega, where he got information about women getting less education, so it inspired them to pursue further studies. For the first time, 34 women prepared and all the women passed, many of these women were over 40 years old. Boosting confidence: Girls like Carmela Kullu, Philista Soren etc. who were successful in the exam said that they were inspired to move forward in the field of education by teacher Raj Anand Sinha. He said that he used to feel self-conscious because he didn’t have any kind of certificate, now his confidence has also strengthened.
