Some kind Calgarians are going on a journey to help children this weekend.

Members of the Canadian Oilfield Riders (COR) group head out on their motorcycles for their annual charity ride.

“It’s a cross-section of everything from guys working in the field on rigs to engineers working in the towers downtown and everything in between,” said COR’s Bill Karran.

Any motorcyclists wishing to join the ride can do so via the COR website.

COR members say they are pleased to have the opportunity to support treatment for young patients at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

“Almost all of us have children, we have grandchildren and you see the need for help,” said Karran. “Any contribution any of us can make – we could be helping one of our best friend’s children.”
